Lualaba Global Gateway (LGG) is the leading multimodal platform for mineral storage and the cold chain in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ideally located in Musompo, in the strategic province of Lualaba, this project serves as a large-scale dry port.<\/p>

Its main role is to serve as an engine for trade between the DRC and the Atlantic Ocean. By directly connecting Kolwezi's production sites to the Lobito Corridor, LGG significantly reduces transit times while optimizing logistics costs for various national and international operators.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The project is entirely designed around a model of green logistics and total transparency :

Energy Autonomy<\/u><\/strong> : The infrastructure's power supply is guaranteed by a hybrid solar power plant (stated at 20 MWp for the entire project and equipped with a dedicated 4 MWp unit for the cold chain)..<\/span>

Ecosystem protection<\/u><\/strong> : The platform incorporates rigorous rainwater harvesting systems and effluent treatment systems to protect surrounding groundwater. Furthermore, strict protocols prevent soil contamination during the handling of mineral concentrates.

Governance and Ethics<\/u><\/strong> : The site adheres to international traceability standards that strictly prohibit the use of child labor and ensure sourcing from conflict-free zones. LGG relies on a global site comprising 60,000 m\u00b2 of state-of-the-art infrastructure, structured into three highly specialized logistics hubs :<\/p>

Mining Logistics Hub<\/u><\/strong> : This hub provides 30,000 m\u00b2 of space for the consolidation and traceability of copper and cobalt.. <\/span>The high-strength storage infrastructure has the capacity to handle more than 60,000 tonnes of ore.<\/span><\/p>

Cold Chain Hub<\/u><\/strong> : Presented as the very first cold storage hub of this scale in Kolwezi, it offers, depending on the phases and sections of the project, between 10,000 m\u00b2 and 15,000 m\u00b2 of world-class infrastructure. It provides multi-temperature zones ranging from positive cold (0\u00b0C to +4\u00b0C) to negative cold (-25\u00b0C).<\/p>

General Merchandise Department<\/u><\/strong> : With a space of 15,000 m\u00b2, this facility is configured to manage mining inputs, construction materials, and consumer goods. It incorporates a computerized WMS (Warehouse Management System) and high-density racking.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Key financial indicators<\/u><\/strong> : The project is based on a total CAPEX of USD 100,000,000. It targets a strong EBITDA margin of 56%, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 18.5% and an estimated payback period of 5.5 years.

Tax and customs incentives<\/u><\/strong> : Thanks to its official status within the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), LGG offers a very advantageous framework including 10 full years of exemption from profits tax, as well as a total exemption from customs duties applicable to all equipment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

LGG Academy<\/u><\/strong> : A continuous learning and internal certification program is in place to train teams in modern logistics techniques, warehouse management systems (WMS), heavy equipment handling and refrigeration technologies.
